Log stock fires in the filed are hard to combat. The fuel gives very high intensity to the fire. Big values are destroyed.

Large amounts of water are needed and heavy machinery to open fire breaks in the rows of timber stacks. Protecting one stack from fire in the next will consume 5-10 liter of water per minute, per square meter surface area of the stack to protect.
