Stockholm Fire Service
was my work place and base for many years. I still miss many of my old work mates. Some of them happens to pass by down in Singapore and Australia .
I worked most of the time with operational command in the field and as Head of the Command & Control Center.
During my years in the fire service I had quite a few very large fires. One was the Sally Albatross. (Right)
One that perhaps left the deepest impact on me, was the Scandinavian Star, 1990. 157 people lost their lives before fire fighters reached her.
The NATO/EADRCC exercise in Croatia - Taming the Dragon, was based on a multi incident scenario with center of gravity in forest fire.
In Russia NATO/EADRCC did a large scale international emergency response exercise called Bogorodsk 2002. The scenario was based on a chemical plant explosion due to a terrorist attack.
In Uzbekistan, the big emergency coordination excersise Fergana 2003, focused on search and rescue due to an earth quake scenario.
